WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's soccer team used a pair of goals on corner kicks to take down Unity College 2-0 in a non-conference game on Saturday evening on Smith Field.
Unity had a strong opportunity to score late in the second when a Unity forward broke past the Thomas backline up the left wing and had a clear run at the net. Thomas keeper Lauren Bartlett (Wells, Maine) timed her move perfectly, coming out of the goal and cutting the ball off before Unity was able to get a shot off. The Terriers earned a late insurance goal in the 87th minute when another Fubler corner kick made its way to Katriana Pratt (Poland, Maine) who settled the ball a fired a quick shot to give Thomas the 2-0 win.
Bartlett earned her first career win in the shutout for Thomas, making one save.
