WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's basketball team fell to SUNY Canton 69-59 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Saturday afternoon at Larry Mahaney Gym.
The teamS were evenly matched through the first seven minutes, with Canton holding a 13-12 edge. The Roos scored six unanswered to close out the quarter and take a 19-12 advantage. The visitors kept their run going in the second, scoring 10 straight points over the first three and a half minutes to extend their lead to 29-12. The Terriers narrowed the gap in the final minutes of the half and went into the intermission down 33-27.
The Roos started the second half on an 11-6 run that gave them another double-digit lead of 44-33 midway through the third. Canton held that cushion through the period and took a 53-41 lead into the fourth. Thomas held an 18-16 scoring edge in the final frame, but the Roos came away with the 69-59 win.
Thomas was led by Kaylee Ravagli (Lowell, Mass.) who scored a career-high 18 points on 5-of-10 shooting from three-point range along with three steals and two blocks. Molly Carroll (Southwest Harbor, Maine), Nikki Bradstreet (Topsham, Maine) and Malorie Weaver (Palermo, Maine) all scored eight to round out the scoring for Thomas.
Thomas will host UMaine-Augusta in a non-conference game on Tuesday, December 4 at 7:00 PM at Larry Mahaney Gym.
