WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College softball team fell to Husson University in Game 6 of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Tournament on Sunday morning. Husson takes the NAC Title after going undefeated in the double elimination tournament.
After a scoreless first, Husson got on the board in the bottom of the second when Whitney Bess and Lexi Cunningham scored on an error to make it 2-0. Morgan Coleman made it 3-0 with an RBI single that brought Arika Brochu in to score.
The Eagles put the game out of reach in the fourth when Coleman smacked a grand slam down the left field line to make it 7-0. The Eagles walked off in the fifth with the 8-0 win with an Olivia Smith single to the right field corner that brought Brochu in to score.
Jen Jones pitched a five-inning perfect game in the circle for the Eagles, striking out four.
Katlyn Coulter (Jefferson, N.H.) look the loss for Thomas, allowing five runs, one earned, on six hits.
