LYNDONVILLE, Vt. – Three Terriers scored two goals each to lead the Thomas College men's soccer team to a 7-0 victory over Northern Vermont University-Lyndon in their North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opener on Saturday afternoon.
The Terriers got on the board in the 21st minute when Kyle Patterson (Gorham, Maine) scored off a feed from Justin Bell (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda) to put Thomas up 1-0. Josh Morrissey (Scarborough, Maine) made it 2-0 in the 34th minute with Jahzardae Samuels (Pembroke, Bermuda) assisting. Michael Sanzari (Falmouth, Maine) scored twice in the final eight minutes of the first, with Robert Ochan (Portland, Maine) assisting on both goals, to put Thomas up 4-0 at the break.
Patterson scored his second of the game in the 51st minute on a pass from Adam LaBrie (Yarmouth, Maine) to make it 5-0. Princiel Kunieki (Portland, Maine) found Jahkeylo Burgess (Pembroke, Bermuda) for the Terriers sixth goal, then Morrissey finished the scoring with a goal assisted by Avian Girard (Castries, St. Lucia) for the 7-0 final.
Jonathan Dutka (Durham, N.H) earned the win for Thomas in 45 minutes of action. He was relieved by John Villanueva (Gray, Maine) for the second half. Dennis Farnham III took the loss for Lyndon, allowing two goals in 21:20 before being relieved by Caleb Derbyshire, who gave up five goals on 15 shots.
Thomas hosts Unity on Thursday, Septermber 20 at 7:00 PM at Smith Field.
