HANOVER, N.H. – The Thomas College men's basketball team traveled to NCAA Division I Dartmouth College for a contest on Tuesday evening. The Big Green took a 108-59 victory in a game that was an exhibition for the Terriers and did not count towards their overall record or statistics.
Lovegeurson Fleurine (Fort Pierce, Fla.) held his own in the paint, scoring 15 points while pulling in six rebounds, five of which were on the offensive end.
Offensive rebounds were a theme of the night for the Terriers as they pulled in 14 to Dartmouth's 3, which led to the Terriers scoring ten second-chance points.
The longer Division I three-point line did not deter the Terriers as they put up 30 three-points shots, making nine to shoot 30.0%
After an initial 13-0 run over the first three minutes to start the game for Dartmouth, the Terriers got their feet under them and held a 15-13 edge through the next seven minutes to hang around at 26-15. The Big Green pulled away from there, but Thomas continued to fight and outscored the Big Green 16-10 in the final five minutes to make it a 108-59 final.
Nine of the ten Terriers that saw game action got in the scoring column, with Fleurine leading the way with his 15. Jordan Goodson (Orlando, Fla.) drained both three-pointers he took and added another bucket for eight points on the night. Demetris Webster (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) added seven points and dished out five assists, while Jacob Godfrey (Machias, Maine) also added seven off the bench.
The Terriers will return to Division III competition on Friday, November 22 at 8:00 PM when they face Fitchburg St. in the first round of the Amherst College Tournament.
