WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College men's basketball team defeated UMaine-Farmington 90-76 in their regular-season finale on Tuesday evening in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game at Larry Mahaney Gym.
The teams traded baskets in the early going, with Thomas holding a 14-13 edge seven minutes into the game. The Terriers opened up their lead over the next four minutes with a 16-1 run that made it 30-14 at the halfway point of the period. Thomas held their cushion through the second part of the half to take a 44-30 lead into the break.
The Beavers came out hot in the second half, pulling themselves back in it over the first ten minutes of the half with a 24-15 run that made it 59-54 in favor of Thomas. The Terriers regained a double-digit lead soon after, however, and went on to the 90-76 victory.
Lovegeurson Fleurine (Fort Pierce, Fla.) and Justin Butler (Orlando, Florida) led the Terriers with 20 points each. Jordan Goodson (Orlando, Fla.) notched a double-double, scoring 13 points and pulling in 11 rebounds, while Michael Gilman (Windham, Maine) also scored in double-digits with 12 points on four three-pointers made.
The Terriers will await official word on their seeding for the NAC Playoffs, which will be announced on Wednesday evening following the final regular season NAC contests.
