Thomas Falls to AMCATS, 2-0

WATERVILLE, ME- Thomas (2-3) was shutout, 2-0 by Anna Maria College (4-3) in a non-conference field hockey game Sunday afternoon. Terriers goalkeeper Jasmine Bishop made four saves in the losing effort.

Kylie Dalbec gave the Amcats a 1-0 lead at the 29:19 marker in the first half, firing a backhanded shot passed Bishop's outstretched stick. Anna Maria would go into the half with a 1-0 lead over the Terriers despite being outshot 9-2.

The Amcats would strike again after a goal by Luigina Cerro six minutes into the closing half. Goalkeeper Mary Kate Breen would finish the game with ten saves on ten shots in the victory.

Brittany Premo led the Terriers in shots on goal with four in the loss. The Terriers held a 14-8 advantage in shots over Anna Maria, including a 9-8 edge in penalty corners.

Thomas will return to action Wednesday as they travel to Daniel Webster in a non-conference matchup. Last fall the Terriers defeated the Eagles 3-0 in Waterville.
