BELGRADE, Maine – The Thomas College women's tennis team earned their first victory of the season in a 6-1 victory over North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opponent Lyndon State College on Sunday afternoon at the New England Golf and Tennis Camp.
The Terriers now sit at 1-4 (1-2) on the year while the Hornets remain winless at 0-6 (0-2 NAC).
The Terriers swept doubles play as Olivia Mora (Surry, Maine) and Irune Arruti Moreno (Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain) cruised to an 8-1 victory on the one line. Sadie Farrand (Norridgewock, Maine) and Alexis Raymond (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine) also earned an 8-1 victory in number two doubles.
In singles action, Thomas took four of five matches to earn a 6-1 victory. Mora finished a perfect 6-0, 6-0 in number one play while Moreno took a 6-2, 6-0 win in twos. On the four line, Raymond rolled to a 6-2, 6-1 victory while Sarahjane Call (Arlington, Texas) won her first career match in fives at 6-2, 6-2.
The Terriers will travel to Vermont Saturday, September 23 as they take on Green Mountain at 1:00 p.m.
