Track & Field Begins Outdoor Season at Bowdoin

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Thomas College club track and field team opened their outdoor season in the 2017 Bowdoin Outdoor Invitational #1 on Saturday.

The Terriers competed against seven other schools throughout the state of Maine: Bowdoin, UMaine-Farmington, University of New England, Southern Maine, Colby, Saint Joseph's (Maine), and University of Maine Club.

In women's action, two Terriers took part in the shot put event as Haylee Patterson (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine) finished fourth with a throw at 8.69 meters.  Megan Cousins (Clinton, Maine) finished seventh with her throw at 6.94 meters.

On the men's side, Jarrod Ottman (Merrimack, N.H.) finished in ninth out of 19 runners in the Men's 1500 Meters with his time of 4:18:64.  Brandon Monroe (Berkeley Heights, N.J.) pulled off a top three finish in the Men's High Jump at 1.78 meters.

Troy Worster (Mount Vernon, Maine) had a big day in throws as he finished third in men's shot put and fourth in men's discuss with throws at 11.65m and 30.63m.

The Terriers will compete again on Saturday, April 15 as they travel to Tufts.
