CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Thomas College club track and field team took part in the 2017 Greater Boston Track Club Invitational on Sunday afternoon at Harvard University.
In the men's long jump, Brandon Monroe (Berkeley Heights, N.J. / Governor Livingston) had a very strong showing with a fifth place finish out of 22 competitors on a school record jump of 6.16 meters. Monroe also finished third in the men's high jump as he finished at 1.85 meters.
Freshman Jarrod Ottman (Merrimack, N.H. / Merrimack) ran to a sixth place out of 33 runners in the men's one-mile run with a time of 4:34.47. Billy Chambers (Waterville, Maine / Waterville) finished second in his heat of the men's 800 at 2:14.85.
On the women's side, Gabrielle Martineau (New Gloucester, Maine / Gray-New Gloucester) finished 12th of 31 runners in the women's 60 meters with a time of 8.61. Martineau also ran to a seventh of 30 runners in the women's 200 meters with a school record of 28.01.
The Terriers will be back in action on Saturday, January 28 as they compete at Bowdoin.
