Men's Tennis Edged by Nazareth, 7-2

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Thomas College men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to Nazareth on Monday morning as part of the Terriers' spring trip.

The Terriers fall to a 1-2 record while the Golden Flyers earn their first victory of the 2017 season at 1-2.

In doubles play, the Terriers earned a victory on the number one line as Ryan Chasse (Fort Kent, Maine / Fort Kent) and Zachary Disch (Waterville, Maine / Waterville) won 8-3.  Ross Munn (Brunswick, Maine / Brunswick) and Kaleb Payson (Lamoine, Maine / MDI) dropped the number two match 8-2 while Jared Waterhouse (Dayton, Maine / Thornton Academy) and Mark Amato fell 8-1.

Munn claimed the only victory in singles play 4-6, 6-3, (10-6) in the number two slot.  Chasse came up short in number one play 6-4, 1-6, (10-7).  Amato also lost in a tiebreaker on the six line after winning his first set 6-3, 5-7, (10-7).

The Terriers will return to action on Tuesday, March 14 as they face St. Mary's (Md.) at 2:30 p.m. in Hilton Head, S.C.
