WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College men's soccer team scored twice in the first 16 minutes to take a 2-1 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Semifinal win and move on to the NAC Finals.
MacQuille Walker (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda) took a feed from Adam LaBrie (Yarmouth, Maine) and buried the opening goal of the game in the 8th minute to give Thomas the 1-0 lead. Justin Bell (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda) made it 2-0 in the 16th minute on his fifth of the season to send Thomas into the break with the lead.
The Ealges pulled within one in the 81st minute on a goal by Joao Passoni but were unable to get the equalizer as the Terriers took the 2-1 win.
Jonathan Dutka (Durham, N.H.) picked up the win for Thomas, stopping three shots on goal. Kyle Townsend made two stops in the loss for the Eagles.
Thomas will look to clinch their fifth NAC Championship in program history on Sunday, November 4 at Maine Maritime. Due to uncertainty with MMA's power outage situation, the start time will be finalized tomorrow morning. If MMA has power, the game will go on as planned at 2:30 PM, if not the game will begin at 1:00 PM.
