MSOC: Dutka and Samuels Earn NAC Honors

WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) has released its weekly awards for men's soccer and Jonathan Dutka (Durham, N.H.) and Jahzardae Samuels (Pembroke, Bermuda) have been honored. Dutka was named Defensive Player of the Week while Samuels earned Rookie of the Week.

Dutka made 11 saves, surrendering just two goals to a strong Bowdoin offense in a 2-1 non-conference loss on Monday. He followed that performance with a combined shutout in a 3-0 conference win over UMPI on Saturday, where he did not allow a goal in 45 minutes of action and picked up the NAC win.

Samuels took two shots on goal, and put one in the back of the net for the Terriers third goal in a 3-0 win over NAC opponent UMaine-Presque Isle on Saturday. The midfielder was also key to pressuring a strong Bowdoin team in a tough non-conference matchup. Samuels is the third Thomas player to earn Rookie of the Week this season.

The Terriers will return to action on Wednesday, October 10 at 8:00 PM.
