WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) has released its weekly awards for field hockey and Thomas College swept all three awards for the fifth time this season. Britney Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) was named Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, while Tiffany Weeks (Kennbunk, Maine) earned Defensive Player of the Week.
Gregoire scored three times this week to lead the Terriers to two conference wins. First in a 3-2 win over Husson on Tuesday, the freshman scored the Terriers first goal to tie the game at 1-1 and change the momentum. In Saturday's 3-2 win over UMaine-Farmington, she scored the Terriers first goal in the 7th minute, then scored the game winner in the 56th to give her team the victory. This is Gregoire's second time earning Player and Rookie of the Week honors this season.
Weeks anchored the Terrier backend to a 2-0 week in conference play, allowing just two goals in each game. The senior helped Thomas hold Husson to only two penalty corners and seven shots on goal, then kept UMaine-Farmington to only two shots on goal and three penalty corners, while also registering a defensive save. This is Weeks second Defensive Player of the Week award this season.
The Terriers will visit Husson for their regular season finale on Saturday, October 20 in an NAC game at 7:00 PM.
