FH: Terriers Sweep NAC Awards for Third Straight Week

WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) has announced its weekly awards for field hockey and Thomas College has swept all three awards for the third consecutive week. Lindsey Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) was named Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, while Leah Kruse (Norridgewock, Maine) earned her second straight Defensive Player of the Week honor.

Gregoire picked up two goals and an assist to lead the Thomas offense this week. The rookie notched a goal and assist in the Terrier's OT loss to Colby on Tuesday, and also scored in a 3-2 overtime loss to Mount Holyoke to push her season total to five. This is her second consecutive Rookie of the Week award and first Player of the Week nod.

Kruse kept her team in two tough non-conference games this week, beginning with an 11 save performance in an overtime loss at Colby on Tuesday. She followed that by holding Mount Holyoke, who had scored four or more goals twice in five games this season, to three goals in an overtime loss on Sunday.

The Terriers return to action on Wednesday, September 19 when they host Bates at 7:00 PM on Bernatchez Field.
