HKY: No. 18 Terriers Blank Colby-Sawyer, 5-0

HALLOWELL, Maine – The Thomas College ice hockey team defeated Colby-Sawyer 5-0 on Saturday evening at the Camden National Bank Ice Vault.

The Terriers scored a pair early in the first to take the quick lead. Daniel MacWhinnie (Lanesborough, Mass.) opened the scoring two and a half minutes in, then Tito Naranja (Fortkent, Maine) scored less than a minute later to make it 2-0, which would hold through the remainder of the period.

After a scoreless 15 minutes in the second, Samuel Haver (Norridgewock, Maine) scored with five minutes to go in the period to give Thomas a 3-0 lead going into the second intermission.

Alex Berard (Winslow, Maine) scored midway through the third and MacWhinnie scored his second with a minute to go to push Thomas to the 5-0 victory.

Tom Green earned the shutout win in net for Thomas.

Thomas will host the University of New England in their regular season finale on Friday, February 8 at 8:00 PM at the Ice Vault.
