Patricia Hubel, PhD, joined Thomas College Athletics in 2008 as the first, full-time Athletic Trainer. She serves as the Head Athletic Trainer and head Strength & Conditioning Coach.
Prior to Thomas, Hubel began as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Wyoming Cowboys for two years and then 13 years of work for Trinity Sports Medicine (Minot, ND) where she provided sports medicine care and strength & conditioning programs for local collegiate and high school athletic teams. Other team coverage included club gymnastics, Continental Basketball Association, and North American Hockey League. She also initiated a strength and conditioning program for local athletes (Sports Kinetics) through the hospital’s outreach programs and assisted with testing and education for a community-wide wellness program.
Hubel is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and the National Academy of Sports Medicine’s Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) and Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES).
She graduated from Ball State University after completing her degree in secondary physical education/athletic training as a four-year member of the field hockey program. Other degrees include: Master’s in Physical Education (University of Wyoming), Master of Science in Online Teaching and Learning (Cal State Hayward/Eastbay), and her Doctorate of Philosophy in Education (Capella University).
