Every month, the Thomas College Athletics Department will select one male and one female student-athlete that have excelled on the playing surface.
For the month of October, men’s cross country runner, Jarrod Ottman, has been named Male Terrier Athlete of the Month.
Ottman capped off his sophomore season with an outstanding month as he competed in three races. He opened October with a first place victory at the Runnin’ Monks Invitational hosted by Saint Joseph’s (Maine) followed by a strong 22nd place run at the Maine State Cross Country Championships. Ottman wrapped up with an impressive fifth place finish at the North Atlantic Conference Championships to earn a spot on the All-Conference First Team.
“The growth I have seen in Jarrod this year is incredible,” said Head Coach Kerry Smart. “The maturity and self-drive is something to be commended. He ran with confidence and put the blood, sweat and tears in to secure a well-deserved place on the All-Conference squad. I am beyond proud of him and feel so fortunate to have him on my team.”
